US Chamber of Commerce hosts Ramaphosa to deepen bilateral trade, investment ties

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is organising a record number of meetings and events on the sidelines of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) to help foster public-private collaboration and underscore the indispensable role of the private sector in realizing the UN’s global targets. As part of this effort, the U.S. Chamber’s US -Africa Business Center (USAfBC) hosted the U.S.-South Africa Trade and Investment Executive Dialogue with the President of the Republic of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa.

President Ramaphosa says, “Over 600 U.S. businesses are operating in South Africa, the most industrialised and diversified economy in Africa. I’m glad that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce convened today’s productive discussions on the US-South Africa economic relationship. I invite more U.S. companies to invest and build manufacturing and other productive facilities in South Africa and share in the opportunities in our economy and the fast-growing African market. I wish the partnership between the U.S. Chamber and Business Unity South Africa well, as it adds to the private sector’s existing efforts to strengthen our countries’ economic bonds, and to expanding South Africa’s role as an economic hub in Africa.”
