Blocked Funds

Blocking a certain fund, amounts of money, or an account by a bank or a financial institute due to a violation of a sanction is known as a Blocked Fund. This can be due to one party involved is on the sanctions list or due to economic sanctions regulations. For example, some countries have fund limits for money that can move out of the country in a given period of time. To release the funds you will have to file an unblocking application with the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
